This is for customers paying in person, online in a one-time transaction, or on the automated telephone system (IVR) using a credit card or e-checks. Customers have always had the option to use their personal banking online bill pay with no fees, as well as pay in person with cash or checks. Customers have an option to pay at local grocery stores, but this option has always had a transaction fee of $1.50 for each payment. The only online option with no fees is sewer reoccurring transactions. These types of transactions require more secured customer data such as e-mail addresses, banking/credit card information, etc. Per VISA/MASTERCARD rules, they are not assessed a fee. The customer’s online account has a profile tab in which they sign up for reoccurring payments. There is no fee for EFT via a customer’s banking institution.
