Payment Requirements and Penalties

  • All payments are due upon receipt of your bill.
  • Payments received after the 20th of the month will incur a 10% penalty.
  • A $25 fee will be charged for any returned payments.

Disconnection or Termination of Service

  • Failure to pay your bill by the due date may result in disconnection or termination of service.
  • A notice of delinquency will be mailed to you, giving you 10 days to make payment.
  • If payment is not received, a door hanger will be left as a final notice before disconnection.
  • After disconnection, a reconnection fee of $50 will be charged, along with the delinquent bill, current bill, and a $20 service fee.

  • Leaks can be a common cause of high water bills.
  • A leak adjustment may be given if a leak has caused your bill to be at least four times the average usage and you can provide a valid receipt for repairs.

  • If the test indicates an error greater than 1.5%, the City will adjust your bill accordingly.
  • A $25 fee will be charged for meter tests that show an error of less than 1.5%.
